How a 180-rep FMCG distributor moved off paper order-books and cut its order-to-cash cycle in half

The challenge

A leading FMCG distributor operating across four cities ran its field force on paper order-books and WhatsApp. Reps wrote orders by hand, photographed them, and sent them to a back-office team that re-keyed everything into a legacy ERP each evening. Orders were lost, double-entered, or delayed a full day. COD collections from 180 reps took five to seven days to reconcile against bank deposits, and management had no real-time view of what reps were actually doing in the market. Stock-outs at key retail outlets were costing prime shelf space to competitors.

The solution

DistroOps field-sales mobile app was rolled out to all 180 reps with offline-first order capture, beat-plan journey management, and on-the-spot COD recording. Orders now flow straight into the back office with no re-keying. Daily van-stock close-out keeps warehouse inventory honest, and bank-statement auto-matching reconciles COD collections at T+1. Managers monitor strike rate, coverage, and live sales from a web dashboard.

"We used to find out what happened in the market a day late, if at all. Now the order is in our system before the rep leaves the shop, and our cash is reconciled the next morning instead of the next week."
